The 3D Print Master Australia Competition is the country’s premier scale model building event using Resin 3D Printers. This first-of-its-kind competition brings together professional artists and 3D Print Masters from across Australia to design, print, and present their creations, pushing the boundaries of resin 3D printing. Participants will showcase their innovation, artistry, and technical skill, gaining national recognition for their work. This competition provides a platform for enthusiasts to collaborate with like-minded individuals and demonstrate their expertise in a challenging and creative environment.

The competition is open to all 3D printing enthusiasts and hobbyists who have a passion for scale modelling and resin printing. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an avid hobbyist, this event is designed to showcase diverse talents. We are accepting 6 teams of 2 participants each, totalling 12 participants, creating an exciting, competitive environment with the best and brightest from across Australia.

All applications will be reviewed, and the top 6 teams will be selected by our committee. We will also choose 2 backup teams in case of last-minute withdrawals. Be sure to read the instructions carefully and submit high-quality images of your previous work to make the judging process easier.

All participants must create their models using the provided 3D printers, tools, and materials. Each team will have their own 3D printer (with resin), airbrushing booth, and finishing tools.
Teams must complete a diorama based on the theme provided within the allotted time of two days and two nights.
Pre-made models or large parts cannot be purchased or used in the final diorama.
Decorative materials, such as flocking or small accents, are permitted to enhance the scene.
Teams are not allowed to tamper with other teams’ equipment or projects.
Outside assistance is strictly prohibited, except from designated 3D Print Master mentors.

We will supply the essential tools to ensure participants can focus on creating their best work. This includes 3D printers, Monocure3D resin, ResinAway cleaning solution, ultrasonic cleaners, and wash stations. Additionally, we will provide finishing equipment such as air compressors, limited brushes, airbrushes, and other tools to help with post-processing and detailing.

You’ll need to bring a laptop for design and file preparation. Additionally, you’re encouraged to bring your favourite finishing tools such as paintbrushes, airbrushes, or any other equipment that will help you add personal touches and complete your model to the highest standard.

Yes, all participants must use the provided resin for the 3D printing phase of the competition. All participants must use provided paints for the painting phase of the competition. You are welcome to bring your own additional tools, as long as they are safe and suitable for use in a public space. Please ensure that any materials you bring do not interfere with the resin or post-processing equipment provided. Any extra equipment will need to be approved by the committee and the decision is final.

There is no entry fee to participate in the 3D Print Masters competition. However, any expenses incurred during the event, such as food, drinks, accommodation, and travel, will not be covered and must be funded by the participants.

Prizes include 3D printing equipment and materials, such as 3D printers and resin supplies. Full details of the prizes will be announced closer to the event, so stay tuned for updates!
